Communications E-House in the Greater Toronto Area ( Name and location withheld).

The requirement.

The subject project was a high sensitive communications un-manned E-House in the Greater Toronto Area . The Customer wanted their critical communication servers protected in the event of a fire. Since the E-House was un-manned, it was important that any potential fire situation be detected early and suppressed automatically at its very incipient stage.

The Solution.

CAINtech designed and installed a Siemens Cerberus PRO FC-922 Compact Fire Alarm System with advanced Dual Optical and Thermal Smoke Detection using the Siemens OOH941.

CAINtech provided the end-user the ability to monitor and view all fire alarms and system troubles remotely using the Cerberus Remote View .

Upon detection of a Fire from any two smoke detectors the Dampers and the Air Handling Units were shut and the Victaulic Vortex 500 Fire Suppression system was activated after the pre-set delay. A Manual Release was provided to activate the suppression system without any delays upon manual detection of a fire alarm condition. An agent release abort switch was also provided to abort the activation of the suppression system.

The Siemens Advantage

In addition to early fire detection, the Siemens advanced Dual Optical and Thermal Smoke Detector OOH941 allowed the end-user the ability to monitor the temperature of the e-house in real-time and provide them with an early warning of a temperature rise due to the failure of the air conditioning system within the e-house thereby allowing the end-user to dispatch a maintenance crew to restore the optimal operating temperature within the e-house and prevent possible communication equipment failure.
