The codes we operate under

CAINtech operates under the Ontario Fire Code (O. Reg. 213/07, amended by O. Reg. 87/25), CAN/ULC-S536:2019 (inspection), CAN/ULC-S537:2019 (verification), CAN/ULC-S524 (installation), and the applicable NFPA standards: NFPA 10, NFPA 25, NFPA 17A, NFPA 12, NFPA 2001, NFPA 20. Emergency lighting follows Ontario Fire Code Article 2.7.3.4.

Reports submit in the exact AHJ-recognized format for each standard. Severity-classified deficiency log and photo evidence on every report.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in a full Ontario Fire Code inspection cycle?+
Annual fire alarm testing (CAN/ULC-S536:2019), quarterly and annual sprinkler service (NFPA 25), annual extinguisher service (NFPA 10), semi-annual suppression service (NFPA 17A for kitchens, NFPA 12 / 2001 for clean agent), and monthly and annual emergency lighting testing under the Ontario Fire Code Article 2.7.3.4.
Do you service multiple fire systems on the same visit?+
Yes. Most commercial buildings have several fire systems — alarm, sprinklers, extinguishers, suppression, emergency lighting. We coordinate the full annual cycle in one engagement instead of four separate contractor visits.
Are CAINtech technicians certified to inspect every fire system?+
Our technicians hold CFAA certification for fire alarm work, NFPA 10 facility licensing for extinguishers, Sprinkler Fitter 427A Red Seal qualification for sprinkler work, and manufacturer factory certifications including Siemens Cerberus PRO. A full credentials sheet is available to procurement teams on request.
How fast is the 24/7 emergency response?+
Our 24/7 line is for fire system faults: a panel trouble signal that needs investigating, a sprinkler-flow alarm triggering, suppression-system activation after an event. We respond same-day during business hours and dispatch within hours for after-hours emergencies in the GTA.
Can you handle fire-protection inspections for buildings outside the GTA?+
Our standard service area covers the GTA and surrounding regions — Peel, Toronto, York, Durham, Halton, Hamilton, Dufferin, and south Simcoe (Barrie to Oshawa to Hamilton). For larger projects we travel further across Ontario — contact us to discuss.
Do you provide reports suitable for AHJ submission?+
Yes. All inspection reports are submitted in the exact CAN/ULC-S536:2019 (fire alarm) and NFPA-format (sprinkler, suppression, extinguishers, emergency lighting) layouts your AHJ expects, with deficiency severity classifications and photo evidence.
